Why do I prime? Firstly I have a believing heart, and I have been told in the past by one I would consider wise that certain actions produce certain results. That seems very evident and almost third grade. When I hear a statement like this from one who is wealthy, happy, content and fulfilled, then I will listen and then model what they themselves have done. I attended an event in September 2015 with Tony Robbins. The event was unbelievable for me. I used so much energy as I really wanted to get an extreme amount out of the event. Therefore my investment was tremendous. I really do not think I have ever invested so much effort and energy to one event ever in my life. Considering my diet, I amazed myself and others in the auditorium. Others appreciated the level of energy that I displayed. Prior to the event I read the words to the effect, “one can be excited for a day or a week, but to be excited for 20 years will give you the life of your dreams”. Smoking in 2016 has got to be the most unrewarding experience that I can think of. Take away the social aspect and what is left? I was working with a client who expressed her desires to quit smoking. During the session I had her list and write down the benefits of smoking. This she did and there were a couple of minor benefits that she could link to smoking. However when we weighed these against the disadvantages of smoking a huge imbalance became evident. It took me only a few minutes to dissemble the benefits of smoking, and to show her how to fill the same needs in a positive healthy way. All that remained was a long list of disadvantages. She was ready to make the changes and for the re-patterning process to be installed directly into her unconscious mind. An interesting concept that I taught was that in order to take control of this addiction, she needed to choose to either shrink the addiction or alternately grow bigger, or outgrow the addiction. Energy is defined as the strength and vitality required to sustain physical or mental activity. Energy is required to fuel our body and to stimulate our mind. Does energy come from the food we eat, or does it come from the mind? We have all heard stories of incredible individuals who were able to push through fatigue, exhaustion, hunger and other deprivations to reach their goal. In the Queensland Police Service if a member wants to qualify for the Special Emergency Response Team, he or she must undergo a final test that involves deprivation of food, shelter and sleep over a period of three days. The test is extremely difficult and many fail. How is it that those who pass this test can still function? The answer is mental toughness and the will to succeed. Energy abounds in those who have a big enough “WHY”. Those who survived concentration camps attest that survival is a mental, and not a physical condition. Even when the body lacks nutrition and fuel for energy, the body is still able to somehow produce energy. How fast can you run toward a pine box? I recall a radio celebrity once say, “Your heart only has a certain number of beats, when that runs out, you die. That is why I choose not to exercise”. I was working with a woman this morning who is very happy, excited and motivated. She has clear goals and a vision of her future. She is confident, committed and driven. She had no doubt that she could achieve her financial goals. She had no doubt that she could achieve her physical health goals. She had no doubt she could complete her relationship goals and all the areas of her life. Why on earth would she invest her time with a life coach? It seems unnecessary, right? My Karate instructor would regularly repeat the phrase “Pain is just an emotion”. I was lying on my back with my knees up and my karate instructor was standing nearby. I knew what was coming next. I saw him do what he was about to do many times before to senior grades in the Karate class. Now that I had joined their ranks it was time for me to receive intense abdominal training. I was 15 years old. We had just completed a couple of hundred sit ups, and when I saw him step to my side I flexed my abdominal muscles as hard as I could. I then saw my instructor jump as high as he could into the air. He then landed on my stomach heels first. I felt the impact and it hit like a sledge hammer. Wind escaped my lungs and I might have even farted. There was also pain. It hurt a lot to have that type of impact hit my body. As I have spoken to people of all ages and of all different walks of life one recurring theme continually finds its way into conversation. This theme is HEALTH. Teens constantly talk about Abs. The boys and girls want well defined and flat stomachs. They want the type of HEALTH that will give them exceptional ‘Selfies’, and a stunning body. Young adults want to be in great shape to attract the girl/guy of their dreams. They want to look and feel great to impress the opposite sex. To turn heads and break hearts. The middle age want the HEALTH to keep up with energetic and hyperactive children. They want health that enables them to work and then be there for their family. In a previous Blog I explained that I spent some time with a woman who was struggling with a long-term weight issue. She was not mastering appetite like she wanted to in her life. “Hi Josh after the work we did last Sunday I have had a fantastic week. My husband & I are getting along really well and our relationship is very positive. Another thing that has happened is that my time with my son and our relationship has improved our favorite time of the day is bath time and reading time we love to cuddle up with a good book:) also I have gone to my boss and increased my hours of work because I know I can do it and I do love it! Food is no longer an issue for me I don’t have cravings anymore and I feel free and know that my body wants the best foods for me. I have been looking at food differently as medicine that can either harm or heal so I’m choosing to eat healing foods.
