The Love of my Daughter!

January 20, 2016

My daughter was visiting and we had many special and wonderful experiences together. On the camping trip we played cards together and I laughed so hard that it hurt. The enjoyment of that time will forever live as a highlight in my mind.

During the holidays, she had injured herself and I took her to the hospital and stayed for several hours with her while the doctors treated her. We learned that she tore a muscle in her upper thigh. She was in tremendous pain and was given an injection for the pain, yet there was little else that could be done.

There was also a time where my daughter invited the family together so that she could share with us her feelings and dreams for herself and for each of us. That was an amazing experience and there was a richness of love and joy created. Every single person spoke and we listened to each individual person for about an hour.

Another special time was where my daughter and I sat and spoke for a couple of hours. During the conversation we really connected on a deep level. We spoke about life and choices. We spoke of joy and love. We spoke of the future and the past. It was a wonderful discussion in which each of us felt open to express ourselves fully. It was comfortable and easy. I expressed to her how incredible that I feel that she is.

She has handled a very difficult situation in an extremely positive way. She is becoming a mature and wonderful woman and I have witnessed this growth. I am also amazed at how she has been able to love all the people in her life, even in the midst of great diversity, hostility and contention.  I asked her how she has been able to survive and thrive. She told me that she “loves” very deeply and I asked her to describe this love.

In fact I asked her to imagine her love that lives insider her. She described it as a light. She was able to see and feel this light as we spoke. She described the light as very bright and larger than her body. In fact she told me that the light (representation of love), was expansive. She described that this love was larger than the area in which we were sitting. She described that she could see that the size of this love was about the size of an in-ground pool. During that experience I felt her love and it was a wonderful experience that we now share.

I am grateful for my relationship with my daughter. She is beautiful, wonderful and full of love. What a blessing it is to have a special daughter who is able to honestly share of herself in a deep emotional way, and connect on a spiritual level.
